In 1983, I started as an installation helper with a small flooring contractor in Houston TX. For the next 5 years, we became predominate sheet vinyl installers in the Houston area. I saw an opportunity to start my own installation company and began working as a subcontractor for Commercial Carpets Inc. During that time, I was managing 12 to 15 installers on 2 to 3 large projects a week. The owner of the company, Barbara Frazier asked for assistance with a large bid, which we won; and from there, I became the company's estimator/salesman. Within 2 years, I was promoted to VP and never looked back. In 1996, I joined Federal Flooring Co. and moved back to Ohio. I progressed from Project Manager to a Sales Manager until 2003, when the company was sold. In October 2003, I joined M&S Flooring Inc. as the Sales Manager. I managed the sales team and helped increase the company business until I left the them to begin Titan Commercial Flooring Inc in 2010.
I began my entrepreneurial interests with my father’s bulk vending business 22 years ago. There I did accounting, scheduling of routes and created a database for locations and inventory.
In 2010, my husband, Doug, wanted to start his own commercial flooring business. Having been home with our daughter for a couple of years, I cherished the idea of getting back to work and staying so close to home by working out of the warehouse behind our home.
I took on the Financial Officer position and most of the day-in and day-out workings of the office.
I enjoy coming to work each day with our team of professionals that I am happy to call my TITAN family.
In 1993, I started as the Operations Manager for a small local carpet supplier/installer in a suburb of Dayton Ohio. It was my job to manager all day-to-day business from sales to payroll. I left there in 1995 to join Federal Flooring Co as a project manager. It was there, where Doug and I met for the first time. I became a vital part of the business with sales over 500k each year. While there, I created a floor maintenance division that would provide commercial floor cleaning services to our new and established customers. Like Doug, in 2003, I left the company and started work with Rite Rug Company’s commercial division. I utilized AutoCAD for estimations and maintained a sales value both in new product installation but also in the maintenance division. In 2006, I ventured out into the flooring installation side, full time, working with a residential home builder on new constructed homes. Discovering that my body was not liking the physical demands of installing, I took a job with Axis Interior Systems as a Production/Sales manager in 2008. There I created a maintenance division from the ground up and developed a hardwood gym floor division. Doug and I stayed in contact throughout the years and it was in 2015, that he wanted me to join the team at Titan Commercial Flooring, selling along side of him and Christal.
I am the newest member of the team! I come from a very diverse background of working in government contracting, manufacturing, not-for-profit, and the automotive industries. I am no stranger to the construction industry in Dayton either, having worked at Miller Valentine Construction and Dayton Superior Corp. for several years. I normally work on the payroll and financial side but as the General Manager, I will contribute to the product applications and day-to-day scheduling of jobsite demands.
